About the Central Asia Trade Forum

The Central Asia Trade Forum is one of the largest annual events promoting regional trade and connectivity in Central Asia and has evolved into a widely-recognized brand. Last year the forum in Tashkent, Uzbekistan brought together over 2,000 entrepreneurs, private firms, technical experts, and policy makers from 27 countries including Asia, the United States, Europe and the Middle East to exchange ideas, stay abreast of new technologies and trade developments, make trade deals and forge new partnerships for future cooperation.

SITE VISIT AT THE CONTINENTAL LOGISTICS CENTER

On Day II, November 13, 2019, participants of the Ninth Central Asia Trade Forum will have an opportunity to join a two-hour Cold Chain roundtable discussion focusing on modernizing and strengthening the cold chain development across the region, that might become a “force multiplier” for generating exports and opening new markets for Central Asian agricultural producers. The event will be followed by a site visit to Multimodal Logistics Center “Continental Logistics Shymkent”.

About Continental Logistics Shymkent
Continental Logistics Shymkent (www.cl-s.kz) has been commissioned by the Ministry of Transport as the Transport and Logistics Hub in Shymkent. CLS provides integrated and high-quality transportation and logistics services in accordance with property consultancy, Knight Frank’s, international classification of a Class A warehouse.

Participants of the site visit will explore the terms and conditions of transportation and logistics services, storage cargoes in general temperature class A warehouse, climatic class A warehouse, container freight station, customs control areas, customs clearance center with customs representatives’ offices and other support services (freight railway ticket office, acceptance/delivery inspection, veterinary and quarantine control).

The 8th International Exhibition for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Stock Breeding In Southern Kazakhstan

Participants in the Trade Forum are also cordially invited to attend the 8th Annual International Exhibition for Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry & Stock Breeding in Southern Kazakhstan. The exhibition runs from November 13th - 15th at the exhibition center Korme.

At the exhibition, more than 50 exhibitors from the United States, Kazakhstan, Russia, and other countries will showcase agricultural machinery and equipment, spare parts, irrigation and fertilizer technologies, greenhouses, agricultural inputs, animal husbandry technologies, etc.

The exhibition is organized by TNT Productions, LLC and its partner in Kazakhstan, TNT EXPO LLP.

Innovation Facility

USAID Competitiveness, Trade, and Jobs Activity in Central Asia (hereafter abbreviated CTJ) is a five-year (2016-2021) project focused on increasing the competitiveness of Central Asian economies and creating jobs. CTJ focuses on three primary sectors: 1) Horticultural; 2) Transportation & Logistics and 3) Tourism and works with governments and private sector firms to facilitate the removal of barriers that impede trade and timely delivery of quality goods and services.

The CTJ project is implemented in Kazakhstan, the Kyrgyz Republic, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan and maintains an office in each country.

By incentivizing firms to become more regionally competitive and by addressing cross-border impediments to trade, USAID helps to develop a more diverse and competitive private sector and generate export-driven growth.
